Scam Alert: Beware of Fake Imaging USA and PPA Websites
Published: June 16, 2025
We recently received a report from a PPA member who came across a fraudulent website impersonating Imaging USA and PPA. This scam site falsely promoted Imaging USA hotel discounts and even encouraged users to “join” PPA through an illegitimate website that impersonated our membership sign-up process.
This scam was discovered through a generic search engine query rather than going directly to ImagingUSA.com, which is the only official site for Imaging USA conference information and registration.
Unfortunately, these types of scams are becoming more common—especially around large conferences like Imaging USA. And with registration for the event opening soon, it’s critical that you know how to protect yourself online.
Here’s What You Need to Know:
Only visit ImagingUSA.com and PPA.com for:
- Official Imaging USA registration
- Discounted hotel booking links
- PPA membership sign-up and benefits
- Bookmark our official websites so you always start in the right place
- Pay close attention to URLs — fake sites may use misspellings or similar-looking addresses to trick you
- Never click links in suspicious emails or texts about Imaging USA discounts or membership. When in doubt, go directly to our official websites, call (800) 786-6277 to speak with our team, or email us at [email protected].
More Tips to Stay Scam-Smart:
Even savvy internet users can fall victim to scams and be caught off guard. Here are some ways to stay protected:
1. Pause Before You Click or Call
Scammers often create urgency in emails, texts, or posts. Don’t click right away. Instead, go directly to ImagingUSA.com or PPA.com to verify any offer.
2. Scrutinize URLs & QR Codes
That link might look legit—but is it really? Hover before clicking, check for typos, and don’t scan QR codes from unknown sources.
3. Don’t Trust Caller ID or “From” Emails
Fraudsters spoof names like “PPA Member Services” or “Imaging USA Hotels.” If you’re unsure, hang up and call us directly.
