Drawing from my 15 years of floral photography and more than 50 years as a beauty photographer, my approach to flowers is a synthesis of my experience as a beauty photographer first. Mixed with my fine art abstract background with a sauce of “floral” beauty shots as demonstrated in my book, “Iridescence-The Art of the Iris”, an eight-month labor of love completed
two years ago.
I will be shooting cut flowers using Zeiss lenses and electronic flash and I will discuss in great detail all of the aesthetic and technical considerations involved in a studio environment. The session will cover the basic color management challenges in getting accurate color. Large fine art digital prints will be displayed to illustrate the points covered in the lecture.
