Creating portraits of musicians is extremely challenging. Each instrument is a different size, shape, color, and have different reflective properties. Additionally, there are so many musician portraits that utilize the same or similar poses, adding to the difficulty of creating something interesting for your musician clients. In this class, we will learn how to incorporate the instrument in creative, and novel ways, that put the artist before the medium. By learning how to keep the artist front and center, I will show you how I light, pose, and interact with my musician clients to create images that retain their humanity and reflect their artistic sensibilities.
