Charlotte Sets the Scene for Imaging USA 2027
Published: April 06, 2026
There’s something exciting about taking Imaging USA somewhere new, and in 2027, we’re heading to Charlotte, North Carolina for the very first time.
If you’ve never been, Charlotte has a way of feeling approachable right away. It’s a city with big-league energy, but it’s also clean, compact, easy to navigate, and full of the kind of Southern hospitality that makes exploring feel comfortable. For Imaging USA attendees, that means less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying the city, the convention, and everything in between.
At the heart of the experience is Uptown, where the Charlotte Convention Center puts you in the middle of it all. Walkable hotels, restaurants, museums, entertainment, and nightlife are all close at hand, which makes Charlotte especially appealing for photographers who want to make the most of every hour of the trip. Step outside the convention center and you’re immediately in a city that feels active, welcoming, and full of things to do.
Charlotte is also a great fit for photographers because it offers so much visual variety. You’ll find sleek skyline views, modern architecture, colorful murals, greenways, public art, and neighborhoods with their own distinct personality. It’s the kind of place where you can head out with your camera for a short walk and come back with texture, movement, details, and fresh inspiration. Whether you’re drawn to urban scenes, candid street moments, or clean architectural lines, Charlotte gives you a lot to work with. The city already leans into that creative identity, and Imaging USA only adds to the energy.
And then there’s the food.
Charlotte’s dining scene is one of the city’s biggest draws, with everything from elevated Southern staples to global cuisine, rooftop restaurants, food halls, cozy cafés, breweries, and late-night spots perfect for reconnecting after a full day. If your favorite convention memories include impromptu dinners, great conversations, and discovering a new favorite place with photographer friends, Charlotte is built for that too. The city guide highlights restaurants, breweries, arts and culture, live music, transportation, and more—exactly the kind of mix that turns a conference trip into a real experience.
Getting there is refreshingly easy as well. Charlotte is a major travel hub with extensive flight access, and once you arrive, the city is designed to help visitors move around without much hassle. That convenience matters, especially for attendees coming in from across the country and trying to balance education, networking, the Expo, evening events, and a little exploring on the side.
Most of all, Charlotte feels like a city that matches what Imaging USA is all about. It is creative and entrepreneurial. Polished, but not stiff. Energetic, but still friendly. It’s a place where commerce and creativity intersect — which feels fitting for a convention built for photographers growing both their craft and their business.
We can’t wait to welcome the Imaging USA community to Charlotte January 31–February 2, 2027. Whether you come for the education, the networking, the inspiration, or the chance to experience a new city with fellow photographers, Charlotte is ready for its close-up. And honestly, we think you’re going to love what you find here.
