For nearly two decades, Cate Scaglione has stood among the photography industry's original boudoir artists—and remains one of its most decorated. Her signature aesthetic—ethereal, fashion-forward, and deeply emotional—resonates with clients who seek a finely crafted, luxurious experience. Cate believes every woman should experience the creation of her own art, and she weaves psychology, dance movement, and the healing arts into each session.
A self-proclaimed romantic when it comes to light, Cate works with minimal gear and maximum artistry, sculpting each scene into a surreal, poetic narrative. She favors window and available light as her primary source, supplementing with constant light to conjure a soft, dreamy intimacy. Through this interplay of illumination and movement, every session becomes a sensual storyline—leaving clients with visually narrative albums and a fiercely loyal following.
Before devoting herself to boudoir, Cate spent over a decade as Global Creative Director of Advertising & Brand Management at American Express, where she conceived and executed international celebrity campaigns and sharpened a rare command of both creative and commercial strategy. That dual fluency—left-brain rigor, right-brain instinct—now anchors everything she teaches.
Cate is as devoted to her own education as she is to her students. She has pursued photography and business mastery with leading artists and business mentors around the world, and she channels that global grounding into her role as an international educator and sought-after speaker. Cate's teaching style helps elevating emerging and veteran photographers alike into confident, value-driven artists. Her workshops explore boudoir storytelling, posing and direction, and intimate details; her business sessions tackle the superior client experience, soul-driven entrepreneurship, and contemporary brand building.
A multiple-award-winning artist, Cate has earned brand ambassadorships with several of the industry's leading companies. Her images and insights have appeared on Bravo TV, NBC's Dateline, PIX-11, VH-1, The New York Times, Grace Ormond Wedding Style, Hamptons Lifestyle, and numerous industry publications and podcasts. She was named Boudoir Photographer of the Year in 2022 and is a two-time recipient of the Ambassador of Excellence honor from the Association of International Boudoir Photographers (AIBP)—a distinction she treasures, as well as an Image Competition Judge for the Icon Awards, AIBP and the Intimate Arts Society, to name a few.
